Surnames: Shockey, Tucker, Robbins Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZVHBAIB/308 Message Board Post: I received the following message about the marriage of Thomas William Tucker and Birdie Echart Chickasaw Marriages - Ardmore Courthouse Groom Index, 1895-1907 Transcribed by Mary Turner Kinard Tucker, T W 36 Echart, Birdi 19 Married: 8 January 1899 Butler/Loco (I.T. now OK) Since it states Chickasaw Marriages, I'm assuming this was in Chickasaw Territory, which is likely Loco, Stephens County, not Butler, Custer County which was Cheyenne and Arapahoe Lands. Also, Ardmore is located in what is now Carter County which was Chickasaw Lands. This was during the period when Sooners started moving in to Indian Territory, so it is possible that T.W. Tucker and Birdi were not Chickasaw. Their son - James Thomas Tucker - married Madie Lorene Robbins who's mother was Harriett Elizabeth Shockey.
