    2. Might I ask where you are from, or rather where the "family" is from? Depending upon the age, and it sounds about right, remember there was time (not that long ago) when, according to the Census, there were two races - white and non-white. If a family claimed to be "Indian" the children were classed as "non-white" and sent to "black" schools.
