Hi, I have no proof of Indian background in the Shockey family, but I guarantee that if it was there, it was kept hidden. I know from experience that it was kept a deep dark secret. I was not born a Shockey, I married one, but my great grandmother on my mother's side was an Indian. It was kept from me until sometime in the 1970's when my sister (who was divorced), was dating a man who had carried the mail. He told her of her Indian heritage and showed her where they had lived. I asked my mother about it and she, very reluctantly, admitted it. I thought it was great! What on earth is wrong with being part "Native American"? I feel sure that there is a link in the Shockey family too, it is just hard to dig up.
