Hello Shockey cousins, My mother, Virginia Spears Shockey, passed away last night after a long illness. We do not meet with Mr. Roush at the funeral home until tomorrow morning but tentative plans are visitation on Tuesday evening and services on Wednesday. Roush Funeral home normally offers a place where friends may express condolences to the family at roush1us2000@yahoo.com. Of course friends can email me direct if any choose to do so. Several of you wanted me to keep you posted about my surgery. My abdominal aorta aneurysm surgery is scheduled for next Monday morning, January 24th. I am to be at CAMC in Kanawha City at 6 AM to be prepped and actual surgery is to start at 8 AM. If the stent and the special "bell bottom cuffs" being made for me fit right and the procedure goes smoothly, the stay in the hospital will be relatively short. If anything goes wrong and they need to open me up for a major repair, then I will likely be laid up for months. Hopefully I make a quick recovery and am home some thereafter. I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I know how hard that is. I pray that things go better than expected in your surgery. Your 'distant' cousin, Diana binney
Some PA Shockeys sending regrets about your mother. She now dances with all of our ancestors and hoping that the Great Spirit walks with you during your surgery. I still need to try and contact her half brother, D.C. Shockey to let him know of her passing but have been unable to track him down. Good luck with your surgery. Jeannette Blanchette
