I have been doing some reading and find it interesting about the Shockey/Shockay indians. Is there a connection to the Shockey surname? Does anyone have any info on this? Sara

I have been ask this by others. So far I have not found a link. That is not saying that one does not exist. In my article for the Shockey Newsletter (that Marie probably has at the printer right now) I made a request asking that if anyone did have proof to please send me a copy. Also I have been hearing from more people each year who say that they were told that their grandmother or great grandmother was Indian or part Indian. I have yet to find supporting documents such as US census, birth, marriage or death certificates that support any of these claims. The census would have AI in place of W or other designation. The birth, marriage or death certificates could have it shown as American Indian, or AI or list a certain Indian tribe or nation. If anyone has found proof on any of this, I would certainly appreciate a copy of the material.
