I have been doing some reading and find it interesting about the Shockey/Shockay indians. Is there a connection to the Shockey surname? Does anyone have any info on this? Sara

We must remember that what we find on the computer is not always correct. We must verify things for ourselves. I have had the computer make matches on my Dyer line that were not correct. It will sometimes put some person with a different name up there. I think it matches by birth dates and other things and not always by the last name. We must take these as suggestions only and reject that which we know is not correct. I am supposing this was just an incorrect match.

Hi Cousins. I am trying to up-date my mailing list for the Newsletter and I need all changes of address that have taken place since this time last year and I need any new ones for anyone who wishes to be put on the mailing list. I have not gotten it done yet, so if you have any item or news that you would like to have included, send it as soon as you can. Thank You, Marie

I am seeking to explain an anomaly. On Ancestry.com one Solomon Shockey 12 Jan 1806 to 22 March 1871 PA/MD is shown as the child of Christian M Zook nad Catererine Sechrist. As Ms. Secherist did not list any prior marriages, I can only assume that Solomom was adopted or that he was the child of a friend and the friend passed over or otherwise could not take care of the child. Does anyone have information about his and who Solomons' "Shockey" parents were? Many Thanks

Hi Cousins, I just talked to Naomi and she says that Les came through his surgery just fine. the doctor said that everything went just the way it was supposed to. He is not up and around yet, but should make a speedy recovery. Prayers are strong medicine, but just keep him in your prayers until he is back on his feet. Marie
