    1. [SHIVER-L] A new REAL "worm" - PRETTYPARK.EXE

    3. Hey all, I'm a bit hesitant to send this out, because I realize how many phony virus alerts there are out there... This one appears to be real, and I have checked the URLs below myself. If you go to the Symantec Web Site (makers of Norton Anti-Virus software), you can find instructions on how to detect if you have this "worm" on your machine and how to eradicate it. I am only sending this to my lists because a while back when "Happy99.exe" was floating around, it actually got sent to me a few times... The best way to protect yourself against Internet viruses or worms is to NOT open any attached file with the extension ".exe" or Word Documents that might contain a malicious macro (unless you are expecting the file to come in and know exactly what it contains before opening it).. I realize I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but I felt it was important enough to warn you... Mary K. > There is a new Worm/Trojan Virus being spread called PrettyPark.
