Hammond This indenture made and entered into 22 August 1844 be: Wm Shivers Jr. of the State of Georgia and E. M. Hammond State of South Carolina. Withness the Said Wm Shiver Jr for and in consideration of the sum of 1200.00 the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged to him in had paid by E. M. Hammond before the sign and seal of these presents hath granted, bargained and sold and doth by these presents give bargain and sell unto the said Edwin M. Hammond a Certain parcal of land situated by and being at the time of surveiying Camden District of said State and foresad on the waters of Bear Creek and granted to Wm Graves on the 7 Jan 1796 and bounded as follows to it; on the SE by Wm Graves and Daniel Blackmoss land , NE by Danl Blackmass and Brice Mellers Land and NW by Thomas Millers land containing 267a more or less together until all and signing the rights members and appru____ hereto belonging or in anywise appertain or the presence __ of land of 267a until all privaledge and appurtiity unto the said Edwin M. Hammond, his heirs and assignes forever the said 267a of land was sold and transferred by deed by Wm Graves to James Miller and by Jas Mill to Geo Colwin and by Geo Cowin and by Mary Cowin witthdraw and gegatee of Geo Cowin to Willis Shiver and Barnaby Shivers and from Willis Shivers to Barnaby Shivers and from Barnaby Shvers to Wm Shivers Jr. and the Said Wm Shivers Jr. doth hereby and by these presents, for himself, his heirs Exc, Administrators and assigns to warrent and forever defend the rights, title unto and claom of the aforsaid 267a of land from the claim of all other persons whatsoever: unto the said Edwin M.
