John: I have some pages from the D.E. Cain book...I've been scanning them to send to interested SHIVER/PRESTWOOD researchers. Also included are the pages on the PELHAM family with connections to our branch of the SHIVERs via a marriage between Elmedia SHIVER and Perry Allen JONES, a PELHAM descendant. Since I sent the message to the list, I realized that we cannot attach files to list messages, so, I'm sending them via e-mail. As I previously noted, I hope that I'm not stepping on any toes by doing this. Since I made the copies around 20 years ago the original book has "walked" from the library, so I cannot recopy crooked pages, get a copy of the frontispiece, etc. I tried every way I knew to copy the scanned text to an e-mail without doing it via an attachment, but could not, and settled on sending individual e-mails. If any of you computer geniuses out there know how I can do this, send instructions! I use Internet Explorer. I have the following people on my send list: Mary K, Jim S, Dan W, P.J., Nancy S, Jill S, Laura H, Carol S, Mary F, Ronnie, and Kenny. If you, or anyone else, want copies, please let me know, and I'll add your e-mail to my list. People interested in the Cain book must realize that it contains some erroneous information - however, there are lots of tidbits that will furnish clues for further research. Mr. Cain did a great service, and I, for one, applaud him. He got all his data the hard way - without the internet!
