    3. Maggie - Well, well! Abner, eh? I'm going to have to bow out to Jim Swailes and Shirley Shiver on this one. They are both from the AL lines and know WAY more about Abner Bartlet Shiver than I do. Abner Bartlet Sr.(8 Feb 1815 in SC-7 Dec 1894 in Dale Co., AL) was the right age to be your Sarah J.'s father, but he has a daughter listed as Lottie Shiver, born 4 Nov 1851, who md. William John BUNDRICK. Of course, there is a 2-1/2 year lag between this child and the next one born in Jun 1854. Always possible that your Sarah J. could have squeezed in there, eh? Especially if the death cert. was filled out by her son. Death certificates are notorious for being inaccurate concerning details about birth dates, places (and even parent's names I'm afraid to say...). It's a tough guess as to whether William got that information from her or from hearsay. Another question: why would Sarah J. be living with that other family if she was Abner B's daughter in 1860? It appears that all of Abner's other children lived with him until their maturity. Odd situation... Sorry to be difficult, but it's late and I'm tired... :-) Good luck sorting them out!
