Howards Grove is just north of Cottonwood, going toward Ashford on Co Rd 55, and is an old cem. My great grandfather Calvin Dykes was one of the early preachers there. It is free will Baptist. My grandfather William Preston Shiver, and grandmother, Miranda Shiver, are both buried there and can be fround under the line of Ransom Shiver - Anthony Shiver. Miranda's grandmother (her husband's mother,)Miranda Shiver, married Anthony Shiver.) My grandfather Tolar, Wesley, who was born in Worth Co, Ga, and his wife, are buried in same cem. I found an old plot, that had been fixed up in last few years and contains a Shiver family. Maybe we can plug some of these names in the Web Site. Plot in extreme SW corner of cem. Amanda W Shiver, wife of W.S. Lord. Born: 8-8-1831 and died 11-23-1895. Sarah Shiver, born 6-22-1858, died 1-15-88. J.L. Shiver, born 5-14-1921; died 11-12-1982. Elizabeth J Shiver, born 6-22-1892, died 10-14-1961. James M Shiver, , born 11-29-1882; died 12-3-1922. Elizabeth and James appear to have been the parents as their slabs are center of plot. Sherlie Jean Day, dau Mr and Mrs C.G. Hunt, born 2-9-1937; died 7-29-1939. Charles Raymond Herring, inf son M/M J.R. (or JV) Herring, born 2-10-40; died at birth. Erected by Mrs. J.V. "Willie" Herring. My dad didn't know any of these people, but said that his dad did and that they were related to the Lord familyof that area. There are still a few Shivers who live in Cottonwood, althought I don't know them.
