It looks to me like the Francis Marion she is talking about is Son of John T. and Dora Milstead and this Katherin Cooper would be the ? second wife of Jacob (at least she was his wife at the time of his death). Jacob was born abt 1815 in SC (son of Jacob and Sarah Ann). He died about 1893 in McCullah Alabama. I have his Will, some land, pension and Katherins pension records but nothing to reference going to Texas. I think when Shirley gets back on line, she may have some additional information. I am curious how Francis Marion ties into Jacob though. Wish I had more but hope this helps.
