Dear Group, I did make it up to Dooly County Monday - I'm sorry to report that there were no records available that would prove that Enoch was the son of James Shiver due to that courthouse fire in May 1847. I went ahead and check the records anyway just in case the estate was drawn out but I found nothing. I checked on newspapers of the time frame but there were none. I also went by the local library to see if there were any family histories, etc but again came up empty!! At least, I have satisfied myself that there is nothing in Dooly County records that will help us in our search to find Enoch's parents!! I just wanted to share this with you all. I really wasn't expecting to find anything BUT still I'm disappointed that I didn't. "Talk" with you later. Lyrice
