I was at a small cemetery in McCullough, Alabama earlier today, and found the following Shiver headstones: John T. Shiver Lulu V. Shiver Jan 24, 1897 March 21, 1897 Jan 26, 1968 June 7, 1960 Father Mother Thomas J. Shiver Mary P. Shiver Feb 17, 1862 Nov 10, 1869 Mar 17, 1948 March 5, 1947 Catherine Shiver This headstone was in the Hall section of the cemetery. 1830 - 1927 I believe Catherine Shiver was Catherine May Cooper, daughter of Samuel Cooper and Mary Prestwood. Catherine was the second wife of Jacob Shiver III, and the birth and death years are correct for her. I know that the Cain book says that she died in Dale County, and is buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Rockyhead, Ala. but I've found that Cain's batting average isn't that great! If one of her daughters married a Hall, it could explain why she was there in that section. Can anyone identify these Shivers, and confirm my thoughts about Catherine? Bill Cassady
