We have pretty good proof that they were brothers. Was just talking to a young man whose family are orginally from Lancaster County, SC, the mther's family were Mannings. Told him we might be kin! Shivers married into Calhoun family but then it ws Calhoon. Or maybe they married into our family. In the book, "Asa Joiner Family of Mitchell County, GA" is mentioned Manning Dow Shiver as he married into that family. Read that book in Ga State Archives, which at that time was open on Sat mornings. The Riverdale library had a pretty good collection of Ga Genealogical data at that time.
