    1. Re: [SHIVER] Brothers
    2. The branch of Shiver family that lived on Houston-Gen Co line eludes me. There are some descendants in Dothan whose father was John Shiver and he would have been in his 80's were he living today. About 1 mo ago met one Shiver who is from that line and I have his aunt's obit that I plan to put up soon. One of the lady's researching the line in NW Fla, Jackson and Bay county, was Ms Eubank and she descends from Acie (Asa). Her data is on one of the FTM dics but don't know how much can be verified. I have several letters from her from the 80's. This reminds me of the lost tribes of Israel that I have been watching on TV where they found a link to some of those now living in Africa and is also online now. WE could call them the lost tribes of Shiver. I have the data on the SW Ala and extreme NW Fla tribe. I have 8.5 pages of fine print. Have not been able to check it out yet on MaryK's site but surely some of it is from there. It is in FTM format. One of the researchers might well be on this net. He is Preston M. Henderson, 5134 Buckingham Ct, Cols, GA 31907, 1-706-561-4143. DAta was between him and a Mr Weeks in Milton, FL , 9-25-1996. This starts with the tribe of Jacob and goes into the family in SE Alabama. It appears that the ones in Milton, Bay Minette and Pensacola, FL are desc ended from the Shivers in Coffee County, AL that married into the Prestwoods and most every other family in that area. A Mr Weeks gave this to my first cousin, Jack Shiver, in Milton, FL, earlier this month. Includes those buried in Jay, FL; Brewton, AL; Milton, FL; includes the line that went to TX; Winter Haven, FL; Phenix City, AL; Columbus, GA; Flomaton, AL; Geneva Co, AL. I am convinced that they are not directly related to those in Slocomb area. There are a few Shivers in Geneva Co today and I h ope to contact them soon as I have gotten most of their addresses from the Geneva Co tax records. The Weeks family are from Geneva County, AL. I don't th ink that I have helped you any but thought it might help someone. Will look at Mary K's site soon and see where it picks up on her data. For those of you who might be interested, the Jackson Co, FL homepage is now finishing up on the 1900 census of that county and all of it should soon be online. By the way, notice that some of those in data from above, in the extreme NW FL data, had added the s to end of name.
