    3. Mentioned last week microfilmed genealogical records of Leonardo Andrea related to a SHIVERS family in Chester Co, SC and Anson Co, NC during late 1700s early 1800s: William SHIVERS (abt 1763-1832) m. Rebecca MCCLENDON John Shivers m. Jemima BERRY Evan (Ivin) SHIVERS b.1802 Chesterfield Co SC m. Fairby BEASLEY (in Simpson Co., MS) William R (Buck) SHIVERS b. 7-22-1812 SC Tom SHIVERS Gilbert SHIVERS Blanche SHIVERS b. 1800 SC I remember that there were at least some information related to Rebecca MCCLENDON and a few pages related to Fairby BEASLEY and her family. Several of you were interested in additional information from the file. I 'm not sure how soon I will have another day in the library (they're only open during business hours) but there are at least 2 ways that you can easily obtain copies or view the film. (1) The Andrea Collection was microfilmed at the LDS library in Salt Lake City, and can be obtained for viewing at any of the LDS Family History Centers. If you have an LDS church in your area, this might be the easiest and least expensive way to do it, and you can view the file before deciding whether to spend money for copies. (2) The South Caroliniana Library houses a copy of the entire collection, and will make paper copies of any portion of the files for $0.50 per page plus postage. To order these copies you must contact the Library directly, and they will send you a "quote" that requires prepayment, at: South Caroliniana Library Manuscripts Division University of South Carolina Columbia, SC 29208 Phone 803-777-3131 Fax 803-777-5747 For either source, the information you will need to give them is "The SHIVERS surname file from the Leonardo Andrea genealogy collection." That particular file is 34 pages of Mr. Andrea's notes, copies of land purchase transactions, letters between himself and the Shivers individuals who commissioned his research, etc. Hope this helps a number of you! (BTW, the Andrea Collection contains 1000+ different surname files, ranging from a few pages to hundreds of page per name. An LDS Library should be able to get you a copy of the inventory of the collection: Index to Genealogical Folders in the Leonardo Andrea Collection (typescript; FHL book 975.7 D22a; film 908,685, item 6; fiche 6019560).
