Yay!! I finally got the rest of my list loaded, and here is one very important finding! Leslee had asked me about Dedemiah's grave, and here it is: DIDAMIRAH 5/1818(1804) 8/1881 (WIFE OF ENOCH(1800-1848)) TO THE RIGHT OF SOCIAL HALL I was so excited when I found it, and also it has a different birthday than what we had all thought (1818 instead of 1804). This might explain why she was 35 on the 1850 census, but I don't know if this will help us or get us more confused. She could be listed as 10 years older than she was on the 1860 census, but then she would have been much younger than Enoch and too young to have her older children. But sometimes when children put up gravestones for their parents, they get the birth years wrong. Any insights on this interesting finding? Hi All! I am going to a Shiver reunion this Sunday at Cool Springs Baptist Church, near Sale City, in Mitchell County, GA. I went there a few weeks ago and did this list of Shiver graves. My goal is to photograph them all and do a thorough job of cataloguing them. However, this list will let you know who all is there. If you want any info on the reunion or are planning to go, e-mail me personally. When I start taking pictures (Maybe Sunday if I have time) I will be happy to share if you let me know whose tombstone you would like a photo of. Thanks, Anna. Hi, I'm new to the Shiver list, and although I'm originally from Amarillo, Texas, I now live in Brighton, England, where I hope to stay. (I'm a true Anglophile, and in about 9 days I am to marry my English fiance, who also happens to be an amateur genealogist!) John Arden Shiver was kind enough to send me some information on my family line, but I understand that many more of you also share my ancestors. Any info at all would be very welcome, and I'll be happy to share anything that I may have on related lines, too. I'm descended from Mary Eliza (Mollie) Shiver, b. 1862, and her husband Bryant G. Mathis. Mary's father was the wonderfully named Napoleon Boneparte Shiver, b. 11 May 1836 in Cherokee Co., later Vienna, Dooly Co., Georgia, and her mother was Sarah A. Willis, b. 1840 in Pulaski Co., Georgia. As I said, John Arden Shiver sent me some info on the ancestors of these people, but he suggested that I ask the group for their material, as well. I'm also curious as to why Napoleon Boneparte Shiver was given his name--I wonder if his parents were just enamored of the French Napoleon? Does anyone know? I've checked the IGI to see three records for someone named Boneparte Shiver (the name I had originally for my ancestor) but all the dates are too early to correspond to this particular person, and apparently they are not his father, either. Does anyone know who these other Boneparte Shivers were? Surely they're connected to the same family. Also, does anyone have a clue as to where the Shivers emigrated from? I've heard conflicting reports that the name is German, French, and English. I'd love to know where exactly my particular branch came from, and when. I'd also love to have information on related lines--one of my favorite things is finding new surnames and family members via the women's lines. I guess you could say that I have an insatiable "greed for grandmothers"! :-) Thanks for any help anyone can give me! I look forward to being part of your group. Debra Munn
