This could concievably be another "Abner Bartlet", as Abner B (b 1815) named one of HIS sons "Jared Lyndsey", obviously after his brother.... Some of the Sellers went to Polk County, FL for a time you may want to check there. Also I connect to Shiver and they too were in Polk Co. FL. as a matter of fact my Aunt and Uncle died there. He was John H. Shiver's he used the "s" on the end of his. And he had married Bessie Cothran back in Turner Co. GA. prior to moving to Florida in 1922. They lived for a time in Avon Park, Florida and then moved over to Polk and settled down there. If traveling down West Hwy 60 and you go through Mulberry, FL and Plant City where they grow the Strawberries. Just out from Plant City past the Fields is a truck weight station. Just past this on up the road is a 4 way cross. If you turn at the light to the left and go into the little town that is where my Shivers' lived. There Children most of them still live the area now. Ellis Monroe "Bo" Shiver , 71, of 1169 St. Andrews St., Jamesville, died Thursday at Martin General Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston with burial in Jamesville Cemetery with Masonic Rites. The Rev. Ken Davenport will officiate. A native of Poulan, Mr. Shiver was a manager at Coats and Clark. He served as mayor and town commissioner of Jamesville for several years and was a veteran of Korean War. He was past commander of VFW No. 4825 in Sylvester, a member of Jamesville Methodist Church, a charter member of Jamesville Rescue Squad and past master of Worth Masonic Lodge No. 194 in Sylvester. Survivors include his wife, Norma Tidwell Shiver; a son, James Shiver, of Washington, NC.; two daughters, Kassie Modlin and Jo Anna Gurganus, both of Jamesville; two sisters, Peggy Ford of Sylvester and Evelyn Autry of Meigs; and four grandchildren. Kenny Shivers(yes, it's spelled with a "s") was at the cemetery this past weekend, and reports that the DOB is 1815, DOD is 1887, and buried next to him is Menda Shiver. That pretty well points to Abraham Shiver(even though D.E. Cain says he is buried at Ariron). Im a granddaughter of Emma Shiver she married William Morgan Shepard and had 14 children, 5 lived to adulthood, she was small and at birth so were her babys, 2 lbs.,or so. my dad being the youngest of the 14, A.J. Shepard born in Moore Haven FL 1921. Im his oldest child, Joanne Shepard Gage. I have a copy of William Shiver's Seminole Indian War pension file, it tells his discription, 5ft 7, fair skinned ,sandy hair , and blue eyes. Emma Shiver Shepard drowned in the 1926 storm , when the dyke broke in Moore Haven, all family photos were lost, my dad was 4 years old, she was able to save him before she drowned, ,,,were looking for any of her family that might have a photo of her or her brothers and sisters ? In the 1850 census from Laurens County GA see below it shows that Abraham Doll married Martha Shiver in 1841. It also showed that both Martha (Patsey) and Abraham were born in Germany.
