Hi all! Just writing to let you all know that the "newer", easier-to-navigate version of the 1860 Mitchell County Census that I transcribed last November is now up on my web site. It has an every name index and can be searched by page as well. I also have the 1860 Monroe County census, which my mother, Jan Crews transcribed up on my site. If you have any thank-yous, be sure to send them to her at: <jancrews@eburg.com>. Any clarification questions should come to me, as I did the proofing and have the originals in my possession. To quickly get to the index pages, just go to the "NEW" page on my site at the following URL, and click on the appropriate link: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~marykozy/new.html Hope you can find who you are looking for! :-) Mary K. -- Mary Kathryn Kozy mkozy@ibm.net My genealogy home page: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~marykozy Listowner of SHIVER-L, STARRHRY-L, GADOUGHE-L Rootsweb Mailing Lists My Dougherty Co., GA USGenWeb page: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gadoughe My Monroe Co., GA USGenWeb page: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gamonroe The South King Co. Mary Kay, I don't have any information other than what you stated. Maybe Lee has more since George Ennis was his grandfather. Sorry. Does anyone have information on this lady? I had someone e-mail me asking for more information on her, as they collect information on this surname. She married Eustice Merle SHIVER, grandson of George Ennis SHIVER. I imagine Eustice and Carolyn are still living, as he was born in 1941, but I have no additional information on her. I figured that Lee and Harry might have some info. on her. Thanks to the generosity of Charles and Marjorie Lewis (writers of SARDIS PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH book) and Sardis PB Church (who own the copyrights to the book), the Colquitt County page now houses the complete history of the church, listings of members/deacons/pastors, and the cemetery transcripts. Sardis is one of the oldest churches in this area and has a large, old cemetery. The authors not only transcribed the stones, however. They also included notes on many of those buried there (from the HART FAMILY BOOK, etc.) http://www.rootsweb.com/~gacolqui/cemetery/cemetery.html Vickie ==== GAGEN Mailing List ==== For researching SURNAMES, check out GAGenWeb's new help page with links to the most popular Surname sites: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gagenweb/cchelp/surname/ --------------44702F77F4C--

Drexel Shiver please contact me - I've lost your e-mail address.
Looking for information on Jared L. (Linzey??) Shiver, who was married to Victoria Missouri Prestwood, b. 1861, d. 1888. Does anyone know his parents? Thanks.
Evidently the correct surname for this family is "Shivers" and not "Shiver". Sorry for the bad info. Don't know how I missed that one! Jim
About a month ago I went to Lake Eufaula, Ala to appraise some property. When they couple who lived there heard that my name is Shiver, the lady went inside and came back out with a large, old family Bible, that of Ruby Shiver. The man's name was Louis Harris, who was orginally from Homasassa, Fla and most of the people listed in the Bible were from there also. I was in a hurry and didn' t have time to copy all the data but some of it was; Cleo Shiver, Ennis Shiver, Ruby Shiver, 1903-1989 (Grandmother of Mr Harris), Rhetta Shiver (Bertha?), Leo Shiver, Joel Q Shiver, born 1878. This data can be found on page 272 of Drexel Shiver's book. Mr and Mrs Harris would be happy to provide more data to anyone interested. I will be happy to give their address to anyone so inclined. We are not all dead but all lulled by baseball, war, basketball, etc. For those of in northern areas, I have about gotten my garden planted!!!

The last Shiver data that I received was on March 4th. Is it just a long dry spell, or have I been deleted from the list?

Hi Shirley! All of these Shivers get a bit confusing! I have that Isaac (b: 12/26/1844 and died 3/28/1898; buried in Day Cemetery) was the son of Jacob and Hannah Perkins. I'm not sure if this is correct or not as I received the info but have not documented it. Isaac was married to four (now five) different women: Jennie listed that Margaret Dorinda Cross was her mother. He married Susannah Catherine Smith (Feb 2, 1867) and had 2 daughters (not documented yet): Nancy Emma and Sarah Ella He then married Palestine Pheobe Brock (Dec. 23, 1869) and had one son, Joseph (not documented yet) He then married Mariah F. Dees (March 9, 1871) and had John H, Louis, and Isaac (not documented yet) He then married Martha Iona Clark (Nov 29, 1861). i have no children listed for them but she filed for his pension. This info was passed to me from alot of different people, so some of it may not be correct as I do not have the proper documentation myself. If anyone can help me it would be appreciated. I can give you the line through jennie and the Crawfords to me if you want it. Tracie
