To John Shipman, my son, give five shillings and Jo Elizabeth Burleson, my daughter five shillings, and to Edward Shipman and Abraham Shipman and Daniel Shipman and Isaac Shipman and Jacob Shipman and Simon Shipman and James Shipman, and Matthew Shipman, my sons five shillings each to be paid to them when they arrive at the age of twenty one years or when they marry..." I descend from Elnora Shipman married Albert Norman Eaton in Payne Co. Oklahoma. Nora died 1901 and is buried in Glencoe Cemetery, Glencoe, OK. There are two graves beside her that the engraving has come off the markers...wondering if that might be her parents, Jacob T. Shipman, died 16 March 1926 and Nancy Selby Shipman died 13 March 1909. Parents of Jacob Shipman is Levi Roger Shipman and Mary Thompson Parents of Nancy Selby Shipman is Joshua Selby and Victoria If I can confirm the two graves are Nora's parents I plan to have the gravestones repaired with names on them. Nora's husband and 4 young children moved to western Oklahoma following her death and contact was lost with the Shipman family so very little known about this direct line on my family tree. The good news is that I did finally get my preliminary info online, at the website www.abnershipmanfamily.com I have actually had info up there since August, but meant to get back on to do updating and just do not have the time to do it right now. It wasn't until last night, after I got an email from someone who had seen the site and commented on it, that it dawned on me that I hadn't let any of you know that it was now up and on. Please feel free to take a look - I know I have alot of work to do but as my kids get older (and me too!) Author: mattkingtut Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.shipman/962.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hey Crista.. Do you know a good site/location that has the documentation and descendants of Jacob Shipman and Sarah Kuykendall. My current line to this couple is Jacob Shipman (1746 - 1794) James H Shipman (1790 - 1869) Matthew H Shipman (1811 - 1878) Martha Shipman (1834 - 1916) married Toliver Roberts etc... Census records leads me pretty solidly to Matthew H Shipman and I see a lot of online sites that connect that top three generations and am just trying to verify this. My grandmother up this line gets some DNA matches to James H Shipman as well as some potential but distant matches to Kuykdendall's, but just looking for all the paper trail I can to verify Matthew H -> James H -> Jacob, anything you can point me to or share would be very appreciated :) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
