My Phillips family tree was practically cut off at the roots with only a short stump remaining. The other side Symes/Sims goes back to Adam and Eve but the tree resembles a hour glass instead of a tree. My GGrandfather with a whole bunch of G's in front was caught in that space where the sand goes from the top to the bottom and his whole history is a garbled mess. His name was Sherwood Sims (name changed from Symes to Sims to protect the guilty I guess). Any way, his mother or Grandmother was reported to be Elizabeth Sherwood daughter of James Sherwood and Grace in one list and Mary Sherwood in another. Mary b ca 1650 d ca 1687 New Kent Co Va was reported to have married William Symes ca 1678 in Va. Elizabeth b Norfolk Va in 1672 d 1725/26 was reported to have married George Symes in Hanover Co Va ca 1687, which would have made her 15 years old. Give or take a few years, I sure would like to find some Sherwood records on these two young ladies. BILL PHILLIPS B.E.PHILLI! PS@comcast.net
