Norma, Thank you for posting the Sherwood information from the Seneca, MO, burial plot. That was very kind of you. I am wondering if these Sherwoods may be descended from Henry Sherwood, b. 6 APR 1815, Middlebury, VT, son of Josiah Sherwood, a veteran of the War of 1812, and Phila T. FULLER. Henry was a resident of Seneca, Newton Co, MO, in 1870 - for how long, I don't know. My source is a copy of a letter that he wrote to his brother, Alonzo, on 28 APR 1870 (special thanks to John Stripling for generously sending me copies of a number of wonderful letters to and from Alonzo Sherwood of Clarke Co, AL, and subsequently, Henderson, TN. If anyone has any information connecting Henry with the Sherwoods buried in the family plot that Norma has described, please post to the Sherwood list. Thank you! Kind Regards, Geoff Geoffrey Sherwood demidave@juno.com Towaco, NJ, USA ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Geoff: Just a thought that might help in your search, try looking at a book "The McDonald County, MO Saga", Volumn I, Cemeteries and Pioneer Families. There were several Sherwood families living in that county and it borders on Newton County. Newton County is where the cemetery was located that I emailed about earlier.
