Dear List Members: Hoping someone out there can help me with this. Daniel was born 1775? CN, MA or NY. He married Jane CHASE abt. 1820. Place unknown. They had three children: Louisa-- no information Daniel,Jr. b: 1825, place unk, M: Melissa CHASE--place unk, d: 1887 Yates Co.,NY Cyrus b: 1827,Yates Co.,NY, M: Jane GRANT--Bath,NY, d: 1913 Yates Co.,NY Daniel & Melissa show up in the 1850 census, Yates Co.,NY. Cyrus & Jane show up in the 1855 census, Yates Co.,NY. It appears that they, and their families, spent the rest of their years in that area. I have tried to trace him through the CHASE line, to no avail. Jane was born in Dutchess Co.,NY and have followed the movements of her family to various other counties in NY. He appears in the Yates Co., NY census for 1825 & 1835. However, he is listed alone---no family. I have checked the census records of many other counties, if they were available. Part of the problem may be that because he was a minister he may have been traveling during the taking of the census. But surely he was somewhere when the census was done.
