Jenny et al, Let me clear up your confusion between this Rootsweb list, which is free, and my Sherwood One-Name Study Group for which there is an annual subscription of GBP 3.00 in the UK and 5.00 Overseas. Your subscription has been received by Margaret Love, and you will receive the printed newsletter next month. For the benefit of others who may not know about our group, details can be found on my web site below. The study is registered with The Guild of One-Name Studies www.one-name.org and exists to help Sherwood researchers, to study the genealogy and distribution of the surname, and to compile indexes and databases eg. births, marriages & deaths. Hi Jenny, I'm the SHERWOOD list manager and I don't believe you have my snail mail address; therefore, you should not be able to send any money to me. As the majority of the SHERWOOD list members know... this surname discussion list is free to anyone having an interest in SHERWOOD genealogy. I don't know who you sent money to; however, if it was RootsWeb, they are no longer accepting contributions since Ancestry.com acquired them. I suggest you request a refund of your money.
