Looking for the maiden name of Justus SHERWOOD's second wife, Ann. She was a widow when she married him in 1796 in Kings County, New Brunswick. I've only seen her referred to as Widow Ann GRIFFITH. Any clue would be very much appreciated. Deanna
Deanna, I'm interested to know where Ann Griffith came from. Justus Sherwood was my ggggrandfather. He was born in Westchester County on 30 May 1766 and died 11 March 1843 in Kiersteadville, Kings County, New Brunswick. In 1790, he married Jane Walker, born 11 November 1773 in South Carolina, died 1859 Kiersteadville, NB. In Justus Gray's will, he left her exclusive use of the western room, land, two cows and six sheep. Everything else went to the children of this marriage. I am not aware that there is another Justus Gray, especially in the Kings County area, but maybe there is. Let me know if this is a different one.
