    1. [SHERWOOD] Re: Place of Research maybe?
    2. Jenny makes an excellent point. The best rule-of-thumb for genealogical posting etiquette that I have seen - and this applies both to genealogy-related email subject headings, as well as the subject headings used when directly posting to websites - is to include in the subject heading the Name, Date, and Place of your subject whenever possible. For example: "Thomas Sherwood, Brisbane, AU, c1870". If not sure of date or place, include a question mark, or "circa" (or c1800-1850, for example, if you want to specify a range of possible dates), or just use qualifiers like "possibly" or "probably". When it is not known exactly where the person lived, a state or province or rough geographical area works just fine. Just be sure to put something in the subject heading to let readers know at least the country and general period for which you are querying or providing information. This is especially important for an international list like ours, covering Sherwoods scattered across the globe and throughout several centuries. I am probably as remiss as anyone for failing to follow this etiquette, so I'm glad to have been reminded by Jenny.
