Hi all, I've been trying, for some years, to trace the family of David Snider, b. ca. 1837 in Leeds, the son of William and Nancy (Covell) Snider. He m. Elisa Sherwood, b. ca 1842 in the Town of Sterling, Cayuga Co., NY, the daughter of Ichabod S. and Sophia. I've reconstructed the family of Ichabod from various census and children's death records, and I'd like to compare notes with anyone else who's working on this line. Here's Ichabod: Ichabod S. M b. 24 Jul 1850 in Canada?, d. 19 May 1923 at Osceola Co., MI Richard M b. ca 1851 Ephraim M b. ca 1855 Lavinia F b. ca 1861 Mary F b. ca 1863 Ichabod M b. ca 1865 The 1851 Leeds County Census lists the whole family as born in Upper Canada, but Elisa states on her marriage application that she was born in New York, and Ichabod appears in the 1840 Cayuga County Census in the Town of Sterling. Most of the approximated dates are extrapolated from the 1851 census. The others are from marriage and death records I've found. I'm especially interested in knowing what happened to David and Elisa, as it is the Snider family I'm really researching.
