Death angels have called another old resident of Miami County to a home beyond in the person of Mrs. Phillip Wagner. About four weeks previous to her death she took sick with stomach troubles, which disease gradually grew worse and finally resulted in death. Elizabeth Wagner was born in Holmes county, Ohio, January 3, 1846, died at her home one and one half miles southwest of North Grove, March 21, 1898, aged 52 years, 2 months, and 18 days. In 1854 she came with her parents, Daniel J. and Margaret Sheneman, to Miami county, Ind., and from that time to her death was a continuous resident of this county. On August 6, 1865 she was united in marriage to Philip Wagner, which union was blest with four children, John H. and Henry J. Wagner, Margaret C. Kly and Philipena M. Warefelt, all of whom are married and reside near the home of the deceased. At the early age of eighteen she was converted to the Lord and from thence to her death was a true worker for Christ. From 1892 to her death she was a consistent member of the Evangelical church. Deceased leaves a husband, four children, two brothers, Daniel and Henry Sheneman, five sisters, Mrs. Peter Gerhart, Mrs. Napoleon Vincent and Mrs. Alexander Meyers, of North Grove, Mrs. Minnie Lennon, of Santafe, and Mrs. Henry Kemp, of Howard county, Ind., five grand children and other relatives and many friends to mourn her departure. 2. I descend from Elizabeth's brother, Christopher. My line is very active in genealogy. But, one thing, the Churchman line has been sparse. It appears that most have left Decatur, IL early on. Would love to hear from the Churchman line. One of our members has written a book which elaborates on the Christopher line. -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: SHENEMAN-L <SHENEMAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thu, Jan 20, 2011 11:58 pm Subject: Re: [SHENEMAN] Sheneman, Shineman, Shinneman/ Isaac William Shinneman This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. I just recently had a new daughter-in-law join my family, and am doing her genealogy. She has a Henry Churchman who married Elizabeth Shinneman on 22 Nov 1833, Wooster, Wayne, Ohio. West to Decatur, Macon, IL in 1850. He died in 1885, and she in 1895. She had a brother, Isaac Shenneman visiting her in mid 1880s from OH who died at her home. Her obit states she was originally from Carlisle, Cumberland, PA, and born 1810. Does anyone have data that can help? Parents, siblings, children?
