Hi, In her book on Shenandoah County Deeds, Amy Gilreath states that a deed "was signed in German" Specifically, this was a deed recorded Mar 8, 1802 and the grantor was Jacob Inabnet Junior. The question is "are the original signatures on these deeds or are these deeds copies of deeds made by scribes who then in turn wrote "signed in German"?? Help anybody, especially.....
