    3. According to DeLorme atlas/gazetteer: According to DeLorme atlas/gazetteer, Calfpasture River begins in Augusta Co., just south of the dividing ridge in the George Washington National Forest. [I assume the dividing ridge is where rivers north of it flow north and those south of it flow south.] It is not the Augusta Co. line which appears to run along the mountain ridge. Calfpasture parallels the county line. It flows past West Augusta, Little Baltimore, and Marble Valley. It crosses into Rockbridge Co. at Ramsey Gap. Just below the county line, at Goshen Route it turns east with highway 39 and becomes Maury River which flows past Rockbridge Baths and south to Lexington.
