orrection, the quote listed in teh previous message, was not from Wayland's book, it came from "Shadowed By The Massanutten" by William A. Good. To Tom and Cindy Hi, the Kipps and Zirkle (Zerkle) families are fairly well documented in the Vallley. There is a short book on teh Zirkle family and may be oneon teh Kipps family. Where do you live?, I make frequent trips to the Valley, and may be able to help you. The following is in Waylands book titled " A History of Shenandoah County." "1879 Feb 26, George Kipps, at his home near New Market, Depot, aged 92y, 12d,. A sisted died about a week ago, 2 brothers still living, one of whom was a soldier of the war of 1812, buried Mt. Zion Church Cemetery". There are some Kipps and Zirkle's inter married into the Kagey family, I recently finished a book on the Kagey's, and have a distant cousin who lives in New Market. Let me know if I can help. Ken
