Does anybody recognize this family from the 1860 Bath co. census? The surname might also be spelled Knafe, Naffe, Knave, Nave, Ness, Nepp, or something I have't even thought of! I'm hoping to find the wife's maiden name, with a source. June 08, 1860, p.19/247, Cleeks Mills PO George Neff 45 m laborer, P=100 Belinda 37 f Washington 24 m laborer Caroline 20 f Isabella 18 f Sarah A. 15 f Frank 6 m So far, I've been unable to locate George in the 1850 VA census for clues on where they might have married or lived before Bath, but there's a good chance they married in an adjacent county. Note that Belinda is probably a 2nd wife, married in the last 10 years or so, based on the children's ages.
