The earliest I have is her ancestor Abraham Breneman who was born about 1744 in Lancaster Co., Pa. and died after returning from the war of 1812. He married Magdalena Shank. Their son Henry Breneman, born 1766 and died 1791 in Rockingham, married Barbara Beery. Abraham Breneman's second wife Marie Reif, b 1746 in Lancaster Co., Pa. and d abt 1788 in Rockingham, is my wife's ancestor. Their daughter Anna Barbara Breneman, born abt 1780 in Rockingham, married Jacob H. Hildebrand. This is my wife's line. Abraham and Marie had the following other children: Magdalena Breneman, born 1770 Melchior Breneman, b 1775 Frances Breneman, b 1777 Daniel Breneman, b 1782, married Anna Magdalena Burkholder who was born in Rockingham about 1780 Abraham Breneman, Jr., b 1785 Eve Margaret Breneman, b 1788 just a few days prior to her mother's death I have no idea how many other Brenemans may have migrated to Rockingham, but Abraham Breneman is the emigrant to the county from Pa. for this family. It would appear that many of the related families were of either German or Swiss ancestry. If anyone knows anything further about this Breneman family I would like to hear from them. John
