Several of my ancestors migrated from Shenandoah County to eastern Indiana from 1835 to about 1860. I have wondered what route they would have been likely to travel. Would they have traveled the Valley Roads south to the Wilderness Road and then through the Cumberland Gap or would they have gone north from Shenandoah to the National Road and then west? Thanks.
