Joanne You may have a copy of the original Cartmell which has the poor index which originally carried the copyright of 1909. Years ago, I obtained the same book and then found a later reprint with a good index in a library. I made a copy of the new index which I now use to supplement all my searches and it works great since the page numbers remained the same. Although the original index contains 64 pages, the newer one is only 49 pages and appears to be more compact and indexes every name, the original index seems to leave out a lot of names. Currently, a reprint of the original edition can be obtained through Heritage Books.
