I am looking for any information on any of the following people. I am related distantly to these people, but do not descend from them. I would bet that these were all Swiss Germans, with the exception of Mordecai Lewis. I know the Rinkers were, and am pretty sure the Showmans and Helsleys were too. Susannah ZEIGLER, m. bef ca 1778 to Stephen SHOWMAN/SCHAUMANN (b. ca 1756, d. bef 13 Oct 1823 in Shenandoah Co VA); Stephen m(2) to Elizabeth {--?--} FADELY (d. aft ca Oct 1823). 4. Elizabeth ZEIGLER, m. to John WERTMILLER. 5. Magdaline ZEIGLER [m. 4 Jun 1785 in Shenandoah Co VA to John HEISEMANN or m. 3 Jun 1785 in Shenandoah Co VA to Conrad DRAWBOND?]. 6. Catharina ZEIGLER [m. 4 Feb 1786 in Shenandoah Co VA to Michael HARMON?]. 7. Mary ZEIGLER [m. 21 Jan 1777 in Shenandoah Co VA to Mordecai LEWIS?]. George Jacob Zeigler received a land grant from Lord Proprietor Fairfax in Old Frederick Co VA on 1 Aug 1762. His daughters sold their 300 acre portion of that land to George GRANDSTAFF Sr. on 25 Aug 1784. John and Margaret {Zeigler} Morrow bought back 100 acres of that land on 11 Jul 1790. George Jacob Zeigler died in an Indian attack at Narrow Creek Passage, where 32 people were either killed or captured. Stephanus Schauman was listed as attending the Reformed Zion-Pine Church in 1799. On 9 Dec 1811, Stephen and Susan {Zeigler} Showman sold 150 acres to Jacob RINKER. Stephen Showman and Jacob Rinker were witnesses to the codicil, dated 3 Dec 1813, to the will of Jacob HELSLEY of Shenandoah Co., Virginia. Stephen and Susannah {Zeigler} Schauman were the godparents of Mosses HOTZEN (born 20 Dec 1810). Little Mosses was the son of Richert and Catharina {--?--} HOTZEN. Elizabeth {--?--} Fadely was a widow when she married Stephen Showman. Stephen's will was dated 21 Mar 1823, and proven 13 Oct 1823 in Shenandoah Co.
