Hi all, I was wondering if there is any way to see if John W Littleton, who was named in the 1844 will of his father, William Littleton, who died in Clarke Co, actually received his 1/5 share of the estate? Is there any kind of record kept on settlement or disbursement pr estate proceeds? Why you ask??? I have always thought that his son, John W Littleton was my ggg gf, but the problem arises from the fact that MY ggg gf, John W Littleton, died in Ohio in 1838, 4 years before his father. Is it possible his father didn't know he had died 4 years earlier? This is my main stumbling block - finding the parents of my John W Littleton. He was married in Loudoun Co, VA and the above mentioned John W is the only one that appears there at the right time. Also, his uncle ended up in Ohio in the county next to where my John W did. Way to many coincidences, but this will thing has me stumped. If there was a court document that said the estate proceeds were redistributed in 1/4's because John had died in OH, it would cinch the case, but what are the changes of finding something like that SLIM. Anyone got any ideas on checking the will disbursement? Many thanks in advance - Terry Littleton (sponsor of [email protected])
