Hi Mike, I saw Amelia's message to you on the Shenandoah List about the Klinedinst family. I know a little about Michael because he was appointed guardian to one of hubby's ancestors, Isham HORNER, in Augusta Co., VA on 27 Jan 1817. (Augusta Co. Ct. Order Bk. 36, p. 145) Claudius Buster was "security" for Michael in this. I don't know what relation Michael was to Isham and would love to find out if there was any relationship. At the time, Michael lived in Waynesboro, Augusta Co., VA. The tax records show that he was there the following years: 1811-1812 1815-1816 1819-1821 1825-1829 1833-1834 And then his son, Washington CLINETINCH, was in these lists, but I didn't copy him after 1835. I think that the Michael CLINETINCH in the Shenandoah Co. records is the same person as the Augusta Co. one. My interest in the CLINETINCH family is merely to find out if there is any relationship to hubby's HORNER family. I know that there were HORNERs in Shenandoah Co. before 1790 also. One was a Joseph HORNER and he "may" have been the one who went to Albemarle Co. about that time??? The above Isham HORNER is said to be the son of James HORNER and his wife Elizabeth BERRY. Elizabeth and James HORNER were md., probably in Albemarle Co., by 1798 as their first child, James was b. ca. 1799-1800. James HORNER was listed in the VA Pers. Prop. Taxes as follows: Albemarle Co. - 1791-1800 Augusta Co. - 1802-1807 He died in 1808 in Augusta Co.. I believe that the Elizabeth HARNER (wrong, should be HORNER although there were HARNERs in the area) in the 1810 Census of Augusta Co. (Waynesboro) was James' widow. She was listed as Elizabeth HORNER again in 1820 in Augusta Co., then I could find her no more there or in any VA Census Index. I could tell you more about this Isham HORNER, but I'll leave that until I hear from you as to whether you find any connection between a HORNER family and your CLINETINCH family. I will say this, I found a CLINETINCH (K) in PA church records, but I'll have to look for it again as I can't remember where I saw it....but it's in my notes somewhere....think it was in York Co.. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you on this. Have we corresponded before??? I don't seem to have your E-Mail address, so am sending this to the Shen-L. Dolores in California
