List of John Anderson Anderson's list, says Mr. P. S. Rhodes, was taken in Woodstock, along the river from Woodstock to Edinburg, around Hamburg, etc. Head white souls dwellings other buildings Mathony, Daniel 10 2 1 Turney, Daniel 6 1 1 Turney, Peter 3 1 1 Nuland, Daniel, Junr 8 1 1 Nisely, Jacob 6 Bird, Abraham 15 2 4 Hawkins, Joseph 9 1 2 there are a couple of Bowman, a Countz, etc. This is south of Edinburgh area where Peter Turney Sr moved in 1760s.....his son Daniel had land that became Green Hope......they both sold this land in 1787 and moved to KY. In Peter's house was wife and son Michael who later in 1785 married Ellender Matheny d/o Daniel Matheny. In Daniel Turney's house was his wife Susan Matheny d/o Daniel Matheny and their first 4 children....they would soon move to Washington Co VA and give Michael Turney power of attorney in 1787 to sell this land. The wife of Daniel Matheny was Judith Peters. Peter Turney's land was across from Abraham Bird and Joseph Hawkins. someone told me that Daniel Nuland/Newland had died earlier in 1785, and that is why Daniel Jr had the property. I have found that at one point this land was in Augusta County, then the line was moved 3 miles and it fell in Dunmore which later was changed to Shenandoah - so you might want to check all those counties besides Frederick for the Newlands. Hope that is some help. Mary
