Okay - where do i go to find wills? I've seen some books that have 2 lines worth. I've seen people reply REALLY quickly so it seems like there are CDs. but I haven't really seen them on County sites, so where do I go to find them? I'm talking late 1700s, early 1800s or so. thanks for the help Julie in CA --------------------------------- Food fight? Enjoy some healthy debate in the Yahoo! Answers Food & Drink Q&A.
You can go the Shenandoah Co. Courthouse and look at the original books. But if you want copies, you have to order them from the Library of Virginia (which is the state archives) in Richmond. Of course, you have to know the page numbers, etc., to order them from Richmond, so you have to go to Shen. in the first place or have a researcher do it for you. --- Julie <juls92627@yahoo.com> wrote: > Okay - where do i go to find wills? Thanks and keep my options coming! I'm pasting them into a Word document :) This time I'm looking for someone, William FETHERINGALE, who died before 1811, but I don't know where or when. First guess is Shenandoah County, ergo my question to you :). But for DAR, I'm going to have to get Spencer LEHEW's will, and I know he died around 22 Nov 1802. in Front Royal - not sure what county it was at that time, but I'm sure your suggestions will still work, just different location. thanks for all of the help Julie in CA --------------------------------- Never miss an email again!
