I see the name Shoemaker popping up again. I have tried previously to connect with George Shoemaker descendants, because his land grant in 1779 shows his land adjoining Henry Spoore, who I believe to be my g-g-g-gf, father of Jacob Spore. The land grant reads as follows: 24 Apr 1779, 191 acres of both sides of Ryans Run a branch of Stony Creek adjoining Henry Spoore Source Northern Neck Grants R, 1778-1780, p 183 (Reel 297). This is the only reference to land owned by Heinrich (Henry) Spohr (Spore) in Shen. Co. Would like to hear from Shoemaker researchers who know where this land was. Gerald L (Jerry) Spore
