Subject: Elliotts and Arnolds Augusta Co. TRYING TO FIND PARENTS AND ANCESTRY OF my great grandparents JOHN STEPHENSON ELLIOTT AND ROBERTA V ARNOLD and beyond. For John Stephenson Elliott all I have is 1900, 1910, and 1920 Augusta County Censuses which list John S. Stephenson, wife Roberta and children (my grandfather among them) and theory of a George Elliott and Caroline in 1860 and 1870 Augusta censuses who list one child as John whose age fits in (as possibly being John Stephenson Elliott). For Roberta Arnold I have 1860 censuswhich lists her and other siblings with head of household Cornelius and wife Mary, and 1870 and 1880 census with Roberta and siblings and Mary head of household. This is all I know: Great grandfather was John Stephenson Elliott His wife was Roberta V. Arnold, (parents unknown but mother possiblly Mary Arnold based on below censuses) Their children were: 1.Clara or Mary Clara 2.George Harman b. july 26, 1884 and grew up in Greenville, VA, Augusta Co. before moving to Roanoke Va where he died Jan. 23, 1934, married Annie Louise Weaver, my grandmother, of Luray, VA 3.
