Dear Good Folks, I am trying to track two lines of my family back to the Shenandoah Valley in the mid to late 1700s. The Rodeheiffers eventually migrated to the Washington County, Virginia area and the Mitchells to Kentucky. I believe these two familys either met because they were neighbors or because of their service at Kings Mountain during the Revolutionary War. But where do I begin? Could someone from the list recommend an online source for me to continue my search in the Valley. Are their sources for land grants and deeds? Cemetery Records? I just don't know where to begin.
