    1. St. Peters church
    2. I am looking for the given name of Rev. I. Heller of the St. Peters Reformed Shenandoah Valley Va. about 1842 My ancestor Rev. John Nicholas Schmucker was one of the ministers of that church Lutheran congregation. Nicholas married Catherine Heller in 1800 her father is suppose to be John Heller. I have had difficulty tracing my Heller line, thought this Rev. I. Heller might give me a clue since he is preaching in the same church. I know there was a John and Elizabeth Heller in Rockingham Co. Peaked Mt. Church in 1776 who had a Anna Marie baptised there I can get no further info about him. This John would be in the correct time frame to be father of my Catherine. Thanks for reading this Jackie

    1. Emanuel and Martha Ellen Shireman
    2. Williams
    3. I am hoping that someone on this list may be able to give me some clues as to the identity of my 3rd great grandmother, Martha Ellen Shireman. She was the wife of Emanuel Shireman and when they were admitted to the poorhouse in 1829 they were "from Stony Creek". Emanuel must have died in the poorhouse because in 1839 she remarried to Aaron Poland. Henry Bausserman was the bondsman. Many researchers have her as the daughter of John Shireman and Katy Fadley, but that is not the case. Shireman was her married name. She was born between 1800 (if census records are accurate) and Sept. 1804 (the date on her tombstone). If any of you have families in the Mauertown or Stony Creek area in which the name Martha Ellen appeared, or if anyone has an unnamed girl born there between 1800-1804 I would like to know the family name. Any clue might be helpful. Thank you. Linda

    2. W. D. Allen Sr.
    3. Hello Tracy, About 1737 our Allens left County Armagh in Ulster Ireland for what became Frederick County in the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We believe their ancestors may have been from Ayreshire in Scotland. As were most early Scots-Irish, they were Presbyterians. Their descendants helped settled Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Good luck in your never completed genealogy quest.
