    2. Interesting Wilkins have a connection to Layman's and to Shireman. The layman's by 1806 were in Highland Co., OH The land was in the Strasburg area to Toms Brook Maurertown area. The land tract area was near Rt 642, I 81 and Rt 600 Layman's had 500 acre Tract Benjamin d 1788 and his wife Catherine sell parts of the Tract bet 1782 and 1785 in his Will proved Shenandoah Co.. He gives 35 acres to his wife 150 acres to his dau Elizabeth Sheriman wife of Jacob, 95 acres to son Joseph, to son John 110 acres. His other sons Isaac, Benjamin and other dau were Mary wife of Henry Baughman, Catherine wife of Goffrey Wilkin, Anna Wife of Philip Wilkin, Susanna wife of John Black, Christina wife of Daniel Keller, Sarah wife of Runyon Huffman, Barbara wife of Christian Funkhauser, and Catherine wife of Peter Mauk. Barbara Layman Funkhauser d by 1805 Jacob and Elizabeth Layman Shierman were in Hardy Co., they sold there 150 acres to Joseph Layman.
