Mary - can you please do a lookup for me? I found my marriage bond, 1787 and it looks like Juney/Janey Lehue DID marry Daniel MAIDEN - it even says her age was 23 and the bondsman Peter EDWARDS was Daniel's brother-in-law - it also says that they were neighbors. In looking at this bond (still haven't printed it or blown it up,lol) it. It looks like it says MAIDEN - but he just signed with a mark so I'm still not sure if it is Maddin or Madden or.... so my question to you - do you have a Peter EDWARDS with land? and if so who were his neighbors? thank you for your time Julie in CA ller <hlm@qtm.net> wrote: Not sure if this is any help but I have a book VIRGINIA NORTHERN NECK LAND GRANTS Volume II 1742-1775 compiled by Gertrude E. Hi Mr. Hearl, No i have not. My Lewis Bean was born somewhere in Maryland in 1825 to unknown parents. I do not know if Lewis was his first or middle name. I next find him in the New Market/Mt Jackson area. It was there he married Hannah Sheets in 1852. I do not even know where he is buried. Carol -------Original Message------- From: G. Mary, Could you please check your book (Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants) for any mention of Nicholas Parchman/Parchment/Parcham? He was listed in Col Washington's militia in Frederick County in 1758. He also was a witness on a will in 1760. Gerry Parchman

Is there a Turney - perhaps mis-spelled as Thuny or Tunni, it was a German name and had not yet really become the English version of Turney. This would be before 1790. Thank you
For Patti: Not sure if this is going to help or not but here goes: Shenandoah was not formed until 1778. It was formed from Dunmore which only existed from 1772-1778. Dunmore was formed from Frederick County which was formed in 1743. In "Virginia in 1760: A reconstructed Census" published in 1996 there is a Patrick McCarty in Frederick County.
