Greetings all, especially Joyce. Like you, I often ponder Stephen W. & Rhoda Green. They are some of the first I studied, before dna days. Records from our family say our Stephen (b. 1809 who md. Nancy Brown & Abigail Harris) 's parents are Stephen Shelton & Elizabeth. They also say that this older Stephen was a doctor. The younger Stephen had many siblings. Coleman Shelton who married Dorcas Brown might be a brother. Another family story says my Stephen's first wife, Nancy, had a sister named Dorcas. Stephen is said to have had a sister, Elizabeth. Elizabeth Shelton Kelly from Rolla, Missouri (close to where my Stephen lived in 1830) said she is the daughter of a Dr. Stephen Shelton. Elizabeth was born in 1800 in Maury Co. TN. Elizabeth married Hardy Kelly in Maury Co. Dr. Stephen Shelton is described as "a physician of considerable note in Tennessee and the author of 'Shelton's Domestic Medicines'." Also, "Stephen Shelton was an eminent physician in Tennessee and an author of considerable repute having written Shelton's Domestic Medicine, a work well known and widly circulated." Joyce, you and I seem to cross paths quite a bit. Do you know your DNA group? Respectfully, Sheila Gibson
