Looking for parents and siblings. Richard Shelton married Frances/ Fanny Barnett in about 1807 in the area of Stokes Co., North Carolina where the Barnetts own a mill by about 1813. Fanny's parents were William and Frances/ Fanny Jones Barnett who settled near Leaksville, North Carolina.. The Barnetts are from Louisa Co. , Virginia as well. Did you find the parents of James Shelton who married Letittia Duggins? My line is living in Greensboro, NC when Richard and Fanny Shelton die in the 1840's but the children do not move on until after this time. Some of the families that the children marry: Gillispie, Young, Davis, Chapman. I am descended from Damaris L. Shelton Chapman. She married John H. Chapman, a furniture maker from Huntsville, Yadkin Co., NC in 1852. My Shelton cousin did the DNA test for Sheltons and we were placed in the maroon group that is classified as New Kent Co., V! irginia. Louisa Co. Virginia was formed from New Kent County in 1720 .
