However, we have been trying to connect my husband's Sheltons (Joshua William) to this family, but again, have not been able to connect him. Do you know whether any male Shelton descendant of Shepherd has participated in the DNA study - and from which Shelton line he descends? With Woodlief such an unusual name it seems reasonable that Elizabeth connects with Shepherd. Do you have the father of Shepherd as a William of VA?
